Operator 1 - Water Reclamation Plant

The City of Rochester is Minnesota’s third largest City with a population of more than 110,000.  The Water Reclamation Plant (WRP) is a municipal wastewater treatment facility and is nationally recognized for its energy management initiatives. The Operator 1 lead employee responsible for the ongoing operation of the Water Reclamation Plant, a municipal wastewater treatment facility. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, monitoring and controlling plant operations; interpreting plant process data and initiating operational changes; collecting laboratory samples and performing laboratory tests; monitoring plant equipment; and ensuring that process areas are maintained in safe and orderly condition.

Minimum qualifications include either completion of a diploma program in water environment technologies or related field from an accredited technical college training program and two years of operational experience at a Class A wastewater treatment facility or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of operational experience at a Class A wastewater treatment facility.  An equivalent combination of education and work experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may also be considered. Licenses and certifications at the time of hire include a Special Boilers License, a Class C Minnesota Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator and a 2nd Class C low-pressure Boiler Operator’s license.

Starting wage is $30.99 per hour with advancement to $34.43 in one year with successful performance.  An excellent benefits package is included.  Applications will be accepted until the vacancy is filled.
